Modbus Soil Moisture Sensor – Model SM4-ECO

In greenhouses, orchards, and farmlands, one of the most critical parameters is measuring soil moisture levels. Monitoring soil moisture plays a vital role in both plant growth and efficient water management. This sensor measures the relative soil moisture percentage using a dedicated probe. It communicates this data via RS-485 using the Modbus RTU protocol, making it suitable for integration with PLCs, DCSs, RTUs, and other industrial systems.

This buried-type sensor is designed to be installed directly into the soil, providing high resistance to moisture, dust, and external elements. Since soil moisture can vary at different depths, the sensor is buried at a depth selected based on plant type and soil composition, ensuring precise measurement where the roots need it most.
